The latest major patch for Path of Exile 2, released in early September 2025 as Patch 0.3.0b titled «The Third Edict,» introduced a variety of significant changes, improvements, and bug fixes that have enhanced gameplay and addressed player feedback from the Rise of the Abyssal league.

One of the standout new features in this patch is the ability to bind Abyssal monsters as Spectres using the Bind Spectre skill. This opens up new companion-based strategies for players and expands the tactical possibilities within the game. Along with this, Abyssal monsters in the endgame now spread out more evenly across areas, preventing overcrowding that previously caused lag and freezes. These systems also indirectly affect the in-game economy, influencing how players invest their poe 2 currency to experiment with fresh builds.

Boss fights received extensive tuning to improve fairness and readability of attack telegraphs. Notably, the Act 4 bosses have been adjusted, with arena-cleaving attacks being made easier to dodge and some boss mechanics, such as the Vessel of Kulemak’s Teleport Slam, having reduced damage and increased predictability. Other bosses like the Strider of the Pit and the Shepherd of the Pit have had damage and movement speed nerfed to create less overwhelming encounters.

The patch also revamped tanking and dodge mechanics, making dodge roll more effective for escaping enemy encirclements and enhancing sprint functionality. Sprinting characters no longer become locked onto enemies during their run, providing smoother movement and ability casting.

The patch addressed numerous bugs that impacted skills, item interactions, and UI experiences. Critical bug fixes included resolution of client crashes, UI scaling issues, and ensuring key skill notables like Warbringer’s Answered Call function properly.

Venues throughout Act 4 and the interlude acts have received tweaks to enemy and map modifiers, improving pacing and challenge balance. For example, the “Area is overrun by the Abyssal” map item modifier now spreads Abyssal Pits across a wider area to minimize cluster-induced performance issues.

Patch 0.3.0b delivers a polished experience by balancing enemy difficulty, improving gameplay mechanics, and enhancing quality-of-life features. For players looking to optimize their progression, knowing when and where to buy poe 2 currency has become even more relevant, especially with the expanded build diversity enabled by the patch. Overall, players can expect a smoother, fairer, and more strategic Path of Exile 2 experience as a result of these focused improvements following The Third Edict’s massive content release.
