If you’re trying to level up in GTA Online without begging randoms to carry you, Lamar’s Ticket to Elysium is one of those missions that feels a bit too good when the bonus week lines up. Players who’d rather skip some of the early grind sometimes look at GTA 5 Modded Accounts, but if you want to build your character through actual mission runs, this one is a steady little earner. You only need Rank 18 to unlock it, and when Lamar contact missions are paying five times cash and RP, the numbers start looking pretty silly for such a simple job.

How the run actually works

The mission asks you to steal a tanker, but chasing it around Los Santos is the slow way to do it. Once you load in, head for the big bridge on the eastern highway and get there before the tanker rolls through. Wait, line up a clean shot, and drop the driver with a sniper rifle or any decent long-range weapon. That’s it. No messy car chase, no smashed-up tanker, and no wasting ammo on traffic panic. After that, take the truck, get off the main roads, and lose the cops somewhere quiet.

    • Start the mission on Hard difficulty.
    • Use Free Aim before joining the session for the extra RP bonus.
    • Intercept the tanker on the eastern highway bridge.
    • Lose the wanted level before heading to the depot.
    • Wait until the mission timer passes fifteen minutes before delivering.

Why waiting matters so much

Contact mission payouts in GTA Online are tied to time spent inside the job. A lot of newer players rush straight into the yellow marker, then wonder why the reward looks weak. The sweet spot is fifteen minutes. Park near the depot, stay out of trouble, and let the clock do the boring part for you. It’s not glamorous, sure, but it works. With the event multiplier active, a solo run can land around $95,000 and roughly 15,000 RP when you’ve set things up properly.

Solo is easy, but friends can push it higher

Running it alone is the cleanest version because nobody can crash the tanker, leave early, or turn the mission into a circus. Still, a small group can raise the reward if everyone knows the plan. Two players from the same Crew can trigger an extra RP boost, and friends can add another bump on top. Four patient players waiting out the full timer may see payouts climb past $111,000 during the boosted Lamar week. The catch is simple: everyone needs to be calm and not treat the tanker like a stunt ramp.

Make the grind less painful

This method isn’t exciting after the tenth repeat, so make it comfortable. Keep snacks and armor stocked, use a reliable weapon, and park somewhere the police won’t keep circling back. If you’re building a fresh character, the difference after a few runs is hard to ignore, especially when compared with slower freemode jobs. Some players browse GTA 5 Accounts when they want a shortcut, but Ticket to Elysium is still a strong hands-on route for cash, RP, and a quieter grind through Los Santos.
